Is "Still Game" a comedy classic and should we lobby the BBC to get it on English TV from series 1?

Still game is a scottish comedy series now in it's 6th season. It is a comedy gem but has largely only been shown on scottish TV. It is easily equal to Only fools and horses, so is it a racist BBC thing over language or do the Beeb think that scots have no problem understanding cockneys but not vice versa?

"Still Game" is brilliant and should be more widely known.

Father Ted would you put it up there in the top 20 sitcoms?

of the uk? is it british or irish? Whatever it doesn't matter. I think i would put it in the top five with bottom, blackadder, only fools and horses and red dwarf (series 1-6).

Also its a such a shame that the lead actor died at the end of the fourth series, do you think they should reserrect the sitcom or is this not right?
Part of what makes father ted more funny than other sitcoms, apart from it being a great/strange situation, is the light heartedness of it all and the mixing in of slightly 'risky' situations and jokes about women and nuns etc.

I meant reserrect it with another actor to play ted, or they could just bring in another actor priest to take up resides in the house to stay with father jack and dougal.
yup st444 you mentioned good ones they'd be in my top ten for sure.

They should leave it as it is. Dermot Morgan wanted to end the series and that should remain that way. It's like Fawlty Towers is perfect as it wasn't flogged until unfunny. Red Dwarf being a prime example as you seem to be aware of.
