Seriously, The Royle Family is a better/funnier show than Only Fools and Horses?! Or Monty Python? The former was voted Britain’s best sitcom (and holds a record for a most viewed episode) while the latter is probably the most influential comedy show of all time, British or otherwise. In fact, in any list of best British comedy series these two should take the first two places. I would also put Thick of it very high up. Fawlty towers never struck me as being particularly funny, the Blackadder’s humor was sometimes uncouth (one obvious example being the abominable character of Flash in the fourth series), while the Office was a great show but lasted only two seasons and had too few episodes (something which almost all British comedies suffer from).
