Can someone help me interpreting William Blake's quotes?

1) The tygers of wrath are wiser than the horses of instruction
2) The selfish smiling fool and the sullen frowning fool. shall be both thought wise. that they may be a rod

I kinda get general ideal of both quotes, but im not really sure tho..
plz help!

Pull the ladder up Jack?

I was watching only fools and horses earlier and Rodney said something like "Pull the ladder up Jack and sod the rest". Is this a real phrase ? I assume it means somebody being selfish.

Well “pull the ladder up” is used (usually in a sarcastic way) to refer to someone being selfish. Like when someone climbs on board a boat and pulls the ladder up while the rest of the people are stuck in the water with no way up.

“sod” is a word that can refer to hmmm.... not sure how to explain that without getting this answer deleted..... but basically “sod the rest” just means “screw everyone else”

So in other words, “Pull the ladder up Jack and sod the rest” means, just think of yourself and forget everyone else.
